Phone-In Minyan
Are you looking for a supportive Reform space in which to recite Kaddish? Perhaps on a Yahrzeit or because you are in your first year of mourning? Or would you just like a time to pray with others each day?
Rabbi Marcia Plumb, who recently lost her mum, has been organising a daily call-in Minyan. She writes: "We meet at 10.00pm for 5 minutes, say shema, sing Oseh Shalom and say kaddish, or respond to those saying kaddish. There are a few colleagues who are saying kaddish regularly and it is lovely to have others on the line as supporters. It is a also a nice moment of prayer at the end of the day. Your congregants who can't or don't get to shul for kaddish may really appreciate a way to quickly and painlessly gather with other like-minded Jews. They can call from their landlines or mobiles, from wherever they are.
The conference call number to call is: 08712712914. the conference room number is: 412035. the pin number is : 0824. The call is 10 p per minute."
Do feel free to join the minyan, as a one off or on a regular basis. If you would like more information, please click here to email Rabbi Debbie.

Global Community News
Gilad Shalit Vigil – Gilad Shalit was abducted at the end of June 2006 two months before his 20th birthday. He has not been seen by anyone of credibility although Hamas insists that he is alive and the last letter from him was received through a short video last September.A vigil is taking place all this week outside Downing Street. Every day between 10am and 6pm members of the community will stand outside this world famous land mark and engage members of the public with this issue. Explanatory flyers will be handed out, a giant picture of Gilad Shalit and a banner will be displayed. This is not a political protest about the Arab-Israeli conflict, it is not a criticism of, or comment on, the Israeli government – it is a plea to the world to help Gilad Shalit.
The vigil will be based on two time slots every day – 10am to 2pm and 2pm to 6pm. People are welcome to come along for less time but ideally people are asked to commit to a block so we have all the slots covered.
