Marrying
WLS offers a superb venue for traditional weddings - a Grand Victorian synagogue, full choir and organ.  The synagogue is also available to members of other synagogues for weddings.

The most popular day is a Sunday, and slots are also available during term-time afternoons and all day during school holidays and half-terms.  Midweek weddings are also possible, and after Shabbat on Saturday evenings.

If you want a marriage ceremony to be performed by one of our rabbis, the first thing to do is contact Micky Nathanson, who will tell you everything you need to know and to do, answer any questions you might have and start making the arrangements.

Here are some important things to know about marrying under the auspices of WLS:

  • The ceremony can take place anywhere, as long as the rabbi of your choice is in agreement, is available and is able to travel to the venue.
  • If you’d like your wedding to take place at the synagogue, please contact Micky Nathanson
  • We can host your reception too, in one of our beautifully appointed rooms and using our clean, modern kitchens. Read more
  • We are happy to perform same-sex marriages, as long as the appropriate civil partnership ceremony has taken place.
  • Both partners to the marriage must, of course, be Jewish, and it is a legal requirement for the groom to be a member of the synagogue
