Brit Milah / Baby Naming The arrival of a child has always been a cause for celebration in Judaism. We encourage the practice of having all boys circumcised on the eighth day following birth, unless there are medical reasons for delaying it. The office has a list of recommended mohalim-persons trained and authorized to perform circumcisions. The arrival of a baby girl is equally important. We invite parents to bring new-born children to synagogue on Friday night or Saturday morning for a special naming ceremony. This can be arranged through Micky Nathanson. Finally – please let the synagogue office know when there’s a new baby, so that we can keep the records up to date – contact Kathryn Leibu. |
