Far From the Home I Love with Margaret Fingerhut

November 3 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

A special piano recital with narration by Margaret Fingerhut

Doors: 5.30pm | Reception: 6.00pm | Concert: 6.30pm

We are delighted to be welcoming ‘home’ our member, the distinguished concert pianist Margaret Fingerhut. In this, the penultimate stop on her concert tour, Margaret tells stories through music about exile and yearning for home.

At the same time reflective, uplifting and in places humorous, Far From the Home I Love includes music by well known composers Handel, Haydn, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev and Grieg. The programme also features the poignant Farewell to Hirta by Francis Pott – a beautiful meditation on the heart-breaking story of the people of St. Kilda – as well as a specially created new commission from Kurdish Syrian refugee, Moutaz Arian, known for the Anthem for the Refugee Team at the 2016 Olympics.

Tickets: £20 (full-time students and jobseekers £15) available from:
