Les Parisiennes - Anne Sebba reflects on her latest best-selling book
Refreshments from 5pm, event begins at 5.30pm
Join us for an extraordinary trip back in time to the glamour and chic of 1940s Paris as critically acclaimed author and member of West London Synagogue, Anne Sebba, illuminates for us her most recent best seller, Les Parisiennes (The Parisian Women)
Against the tense backdrop of the aggressive Nazi occupation when tension, fear, deprivation and secrets filled the air, Les Parisiennes explores how Parisien women still applied their lipstick and walked glamorously along the grand boulevards in a puff of Chanel No 5.
Anne will be sharing with us her well-researched insights and deep knowledge of the condition of these extraordinary women during these dark years and throwing a new light on Paris under the ghastly oppression of the Nazis.
No entry fee, but a £5 donation towards costs are warmly invited. To reserve your place, please contact Kathryn Forro at Kathryn.firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 020 7535 0259.
