October 7 Memorial Sculpture
They are ALL Home
The remains of the last Israeli hostage, Ran Gvili z’l, have been found and returned for burial. Since 7th October 2023, we have hoped and prayed for this moment. As the Gvili family is offered a measure of closure, we seek to offer something similar to our own community.
A Memorial Sculpture
As a lasting act of remembrance for the massacre of 7th October and the long wait of the past 844 days, West London Synagogue is commissioning a memorial sculpture—and we are inviting our community to take part.
Donate Your Yellow Ribbons
We kindly ask Members to bring your yellow ribbons, pins, and necklaces to WLS for inclusion in the memorial sculpture. These symbols of solidarity with the Israeli hostages will be set in resin, forming a permanent tribute to the pain and loss of the 7th October tragedy. In doing so, the sculpture will also provide a thoughtful and meaningful way for us to lay down our yellow pins as we move together towards healing.
There will be a collection box by reception in the Goldsmid Hall and another outside the Stern Hall during Service times.
