Israel Update SATURDAY 27 JULY 2024 It is with profound and deepest sadness and sympathy that we at West London Synagogue learned of the tragic and callous loss of life of children, and teenagers killed in a terrorist rocket attack launched by Hezbollah on a football ground in Majdal Shams, a Druze village in the Golan Heights. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the dead and injured. PRAYER FOR ISRAEL From the President, Chairman and Co-Senior Rabbis: Eternal God, we pray for our brothers and sisters in Israel at this time. As we gathered together to celebrate Shabbat and Simchat Torah, we heard the highly distressing tidings that people had been killed and others taken hostage. We stand with Israel at this time of national danger, mourning the scores of dead, praying for the well-being of the hostages and injured. We, at the West London Synagogue of British Jews pray for a peaceful resolution to this conflict. As we said together this morning: “May the One who makes peace in the highest, bring this peace upon us and all Israel.” Amen.
